Flavio Cobolli to Defend Title as ATP Țiriac Open Returns to Bucharest

BUCHAREST – The elite stars of the ATP Tour are heading back to the clay courts of Romania this spring. Organizers have confirmed that the 24th edition of the ATP 250 Țiriac Open, presented by UniCredit Bank, will take place from March 30 to April 5, 2026.
The tournament finds a prestigious home at the Simona Halep National Tennis Center, where a total prize pool of €612,620 is on the line. As a cornerstone of the European clay-court swing, the event continues to cement Bucharest’s reputation as a vital hub for professional tennis.
A Loaded Field of Champions
The 2026 entry list features a compelling mix of defending champions and hungry challengers:
- The Defending Champ: World No. 15 Flavio Cobolli returns to the capital as the man to beat. The Italian star looks to repeat his 2025 success on the red dirt.
- The Challengers: He is joined by 2024 winner Márton Fucsovics (Hungary) and a pair of dangerous Argentines: Mariano Navone (2024 finalist) and Sebastián Báez (2025 finalist).
- The Veterans & Rising Stars: The draw also features seasoned pros like Adrian Mannarino and Miomir Kecmanović, alongside “giant-killer” Fábián Marozsán and the aggressive Alexander Shevchenko.
“Bucharest deserves a strong tournament, and Romania deserves to be consistently present on the ATP calendar,” said tournament founder Ion Țiriac. “We have built a respected event on the tour, eagerly awaited by both fans and players.”
