STUTTGART, Germany – The 2026 BOSS Open has added one of the most exciting young talents in professional tennis to its lineup. Tournament officials confirmed on May 8 that 20-year-old Jakub Mensik will make his debut on the historic grass courts of TC Weissenhof this June.

Mensik, widely regarded as one of the “hottest stocks” for the future of the ATP Tour, has enjoyed a meteoric rise over the past year. His breakthrough came last season with a stunning title run at the Miami Masters 1000, and he has maintained that momentum into 2024, securing his second career ATP title in Auckland earlier this year.

“The tournament in Stuttgart has an outstanding reputation, so I am very excited to see what awaits me there,” Mensik said regarding his upcoming premiere.

A High-Octane Entry List

Tournament Director Edwin Weindorfer expressed his enthusiasm for the 2026 field, which balances seasoned champions with the tour’s most compelling new narratives.

“Valentin Vacherot has written one of the most exciting stories on the ATP Tour in recent months, and we are eager to see his premiere at the BOSS Open,” Weindorfer noted. “With Flavio Cobolli, we have an interesting player coming to the Weissenhof who has established himself in the world’s Top 20 through consistently strong performances. We are also delighted that the highly talented Jakub Mensik will be playing in Stuttgart for the first time this year.”

Six Top-20 Stars Headline the Field

The provisional entry list for 2026 highlights the tournament’s status as a premier Wimbledon warm-up. Six players currently ranked in the world’s Top 20 are confirmed to compete:

  • Alexander Zverev (World No. 3)
  • Taylor Fritz (World No. 7)
  • Flavio Cobolli (World No. 13)
  • Valentin Vacherot (World No. 17)
  • Tommy Paul (World No. 18)
  • Frances Tiafoe (World No. 19)

Fan Favorites and Local Heroes

In addition to the top seeds, the Stuttgart crowd can look forward to the return of two-time champion and BOSS brand ambassador Matteo Berrettini. Joining him is the Australian “tennis eccentric” Nick Kyrgios, whose serve-and-volley style is tailor-made for the Weissenhof grass.

German fans will have plenty to cheer for as well. Alongside World No. 3 Zverev, German veteran Jan-Lennard Struff is set to compete, as is the rising domestic hope Justin Engel, representing the next generation of German tennis.

With a mix of Top-10 power, charismatic stars like Kyrgios, and the debut of “future-stock” Mensik, the 2026 BOSS Open is shaping up to be one of the most competitive editions in recent memory.
