A Look at the 2026 Tenerife Challenger Schedule and Prize Money

TENERIFE, SPAIN โ€” The international tennis spotlight returns to the Canary Islands this February as the Abama Tennis Academy prepares to host two consecutive weeks of elite professional competition. The Tenerife Challenger I and II, both designated as ATP Challenger 75 events, will feature a total prize purse of โ‚ฌ195,280 (โ‚ฌ97,640 per event), drawing a mix of rising global stars and local Spanish talent to the islandโ€™s hard courts.

Organized by MEF Tennis Events with the support of the Cabildo de Tenerife and Turismo de Tenerife, the tournaments underscore the island’s growing reputation as a premier destination for sports tourism.


2026 Tournament Schedule

The action kicks off with the first qualifiers on February 1st, leading into two weeks of high-stakes tennis.

Tenerife Challenger I (February 1โ€“8)

Players to Watch

The 2026 entry list is headlined by Rafa Jodar, the 18-year-old Spanish sensation who recently climbed to World No. 150 following a stellar 2025 campaign. He is joined by top seeds Francesco Passaro (ATP 140) and Francesco Maestrelli (ATP 141).

Local fans will also have plenty to cheer for, as the Canary Islands Tennis Federation has announced wild cards for promising local prospects:

  • Tournament I: Rodrigo Ledesma Sosa and Saรบl Pacheco Benasayag.
  • Tournament II: Joel Toral Ocaรฑa and Samuel Garcรญa Hernรกndez.

  • Pricing: Tickets start from โ‚ฌ10, with weekly passes also available.
  • Discounts: Over 65s receive a 10% discount. RFET members and Canary Island club players are eligible for a 50% discount.
  • Youth Access: Children under 12 enter for free (no booking required).
  • Entry: Present your paper or smartphone ticket at the gate. Seating at the Center Court and secondary courts is unassigned.
