Record-Breaking $90 Million Purse Announced for 2025 US Open

The US Open is set to make history this year, revealing a staggering $90 million in total prize money, the largest purse in the history of tennis. This marks a significant 20% increase from the 2024 tournament’s $75 million prize pool, reinforcing the event’s commitment to compensating players at all levels.

The most substantial gains are seen at the top of the men’s and women’s singles draws, where the champions will each walk away with a historic $5 million. This represents an impressive 39% increase compared to last year’s prize money for the winners. The finalists will also see a major boost, earning $2.5 million each.

The increases are not limited to the final rounds. Prize money across all rounds of the main draw has seen double-digit percentage increases. A player who loses in the first round of the singles main draw will still receive a substantial $110,000. Even in the qualifying rounds, a first-round loss will net a player $27,500.

Doubles teams are also set to benefit from the record-setting prize money. For the first time, the winning teams in men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles will each split a massive $1 million. The full prize money breakdown for the 2025 US Open is as follows:
