The Kinoshita Group Japan Open—also known as the Japan Women’s Open—is a WTA 250 event held on outdoor hard courts in Osaka. Each year, 32 singles players and 16 doubles teams square off at the Utsubo Tennis Center, whose main stadium court accommodates 5,000 spectators. The tournament became a women’s‑only event for the first time in 2009 and, after a three‑year hiatus, made a successful return to the WTA Tour in 2023 at the 250 level.
