In 2024, the event underwent a significant transformation, relocating from the capital city of Astana to Almaty, Kazakhstan’s largest metropolis and cultural hub, with a population exceeding 2 million.
Rebranded as the Almaty Open, the tournament now finds its home at the Almaty Arena, a modern indoor hard-court venue capable of accommodating thousands of spectators. The move not only reflects the country’s ambition to elevate its sporting profile but also positions the event in a city renowned for its vibrant energy, rich history, and status as a regional center for business and the arts.
