A Unique Upbringing
Born to an Uruguayan father, Anibal, and a Spanish mother, Esther, de Minaur grew up with a rich cultural background. He began playing tennis at age four after his mother signed him up for lessons. At age five, his family moved to Alicante, Spain, and he split his childhood between Spain and Australia. He credits this dual upbringing for shaping his unique playing style and mental toughness.
De Minaur speaks English, Spanish, and French, which helps him connect with fans and players from all over the world. He has three siblings: an older brother named Dominic, and three younger siblings – Daniel, Cristina, and Sara.

His most notable victories include the ATP 500 championships at Acapulco in 2023 and 2024, the 2025 Washington title where he saved 3 championship points against Davidovich Fokina in the final, and the 2026 Rotterdam title. A Passion for Representing Australia
De Minaur is incredibly proud to wear the green and gold for Australia. He has a tattoo of “109” on his chest because he was the 109th player to represent the Australian Davis Cup team – a number he wears with great pride.
