Vienna Open (Erste Bank Open) 2025 Winners and Their Prize Money

Vienna Open Winners

Vienna, Austria – October 27, 2025 – Jannik Sinner cemented his dominance on the indoor hard courts by defeating Alexander Zverev in a riveting final at the Erste Bank Open, an ATP 500 event in Vienna. In a match that captivated the Wiener Stadthalle crowd for nearly two and a half hours, the top-seeded Italian battled back from a set down to defeat the German second seed with a final score of 3–6, 6–3, 7–5.

The victory marks Sinner’s second title in Vienna (following his 2023 triumph) and the 22nd career ATP Tour title of his remarkable season, further solidifying his position among the elite ahead of the ATP Finals in Turin.

Singles Showdown: A Test of Endurance and Resolve

The singles final between the two former champions—Sinner won in 2023, Zverev in 2021—lived up to its billing as a clash between two of the world’s top three players.

Zverev, who had a 4-3 career head-to-head advantage coming into the match, started with immense focus and precision. Relying on his powerful first serve, the German broke Sinner early and maintained the advantage, comfortably closing out the first set 6-3. His aggressive baseline play and ability to find depth appeared to neutralize Sinner’s signature flat hitting.

However, Sinner, renowned for his mental fortitude and ability to adapt, responded brilliantly in the second set. He tightened his defense, improved his first-serve percentage, and ratcheted up the pressure on Zverev’s service games. Sinner secured a crucial break midway through the set, leveling the contest at one set all with a convincing 6-3 score.

The decisive third set became a high-wire act. Both players maintained flawless service games until the very end, pushing the tension to its limit with neither man conceding an inch. In the final, dramatic game, Sinner found a crucial opening in Zverev’s game. Showing world-class resolve, the Italian converted the decisive break, securing the set 7-5 to clinch the match and the title after 2 hours and 28 minutes of enthralling tennis.

This victory is particularly important for Sinner, as it reverses the historical trend in their rivalry and further confirms his prowess on indoor hard courts, a surface where he is nearly unstoppable when playing his best. The defending champion, Jack Draper, did not participate this year due to an arm injury.

Doubles Title Clinched by British Duo

The day’s first final saw a masterful performance from the British duo of Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool, who claimed the doubles title with a straight-sets victory over the unseeded pairing of Francisco Cabral and the Austrian crowd favorite Lucas Miedler.

Cash and Glasspool, the reigning Wimbledon champions, demonstrated why they are a top contender in the ATP Doubles Race, winning 6–1, 7–6(8–6). The first set was a demolition, with the British pair dominating the court. The second set proved to be a tighter contest, going to a tense tiebreak, where Cash and Glasspool utilized their strong serve and net play to secure the championship.

The defeat denied Miedler, who won the tournament in 2022 and 2024 (both times with Alexander Erler), a hat-trick of Vienna titles. Erler chose a different partner this year, Robert Galloway, but they were eliminated in the quarter-finals by the Finnish-British team of Harri Heliövaara and Henry Patten.

Prize Money and Points Rewarded

The 2025 Erste Bank Open offered a substantial total prize money pool of €2,736,875, an increase from the previous year. Both the winners and runners-up secured significant earnings and crucial ranking points.
