Jannik Sinner Withdraws From ATP China Open
The biggest late change to the field is the withdrawal of defending champion Jannik Sinner.
Sinner announced on September 25 that he was not ready to return because of an ongoing knee injury. The Italian has not competed since winning Wimbledon in July and subsequently missed the North American hard-court swing.
Beijing has been one of Sinner’s most successful tournaments. He won the title in 2023, finished runner-up in 2024, and returned to the winner’s circle in 2025.
His withdrawal means there will be a new men’s singles champion in Beijing in 2026.

Who Won the ATP China Open in 2025?
Jannik Sinner won the 2025 men’s singles title, defeating American Learner Tien 6-2, 6-2 in the final.
It was Sinner’s second Beijing title after his previous victory in 2023. He also reached the final in 2024.
In men’s doubles, Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten won the championship by defeating Karen Khachanov and Andrey Rublev 4-6, 6-3, 10-8.
Sinner will not defend his singles title in 2026 because of his knee injury.
