2026 European Open

October 17 October 25 CEST

Updated on August 6, 2026

Belgium has long enjoyed a proud tennis heritage, having welcomed some of the world’s finest players across generations—from the glory days of Kim Clijsters and Justine Henin to the present crop of international stars. Since 2016, that tradition has continued in style at the BNP Paribas Fortis European Open, an ATP 250 event that has consistently delivered high-quality tennis and first-class sporting entertainment. For nine years, the tournament called Antwerp home, earning a reputation for its intimate atmosphere, passionate crowds, and a trophy case that features some of the sport’s most recognizable names.

However, 2025 marks a new chapter, as the event relocates to the nation’s capital, Brussels, where it will be staged from 13–19 October at a yet-to-be-confirmed venue—bringing top-level tennis back to a city steeped in sporting history. The move is expected to broaden the tournament’s appeal, tapping into Brussels’ status as a vibrant European hub and its larger infrastructure to potentially expand both player and fan experiences.

In recent years, the event has showcased a blend of veteran guile and rising talent, with the last three champions exemplifying that mix: the mercurial Alexander Bublik, who dazzled his way to the title in 2023; the relentless consistency of Roberto Bautista Agut, who triumphed in 2024; and the explosive athleticism of Félix Auger-Aliassime, who claimed the crown in 2025. As the BNP Paribas Fortis European Open embarks on its Brussels era, it carries with it the legacy of Belgian tennis excellence while forging a fresh identity in one of Europe’s most dynamic cities.
