2026 Mutua Madrid Open – Friday October 24 Order of Play
Tennis fans, Friday, April 24th, is shaping up to be a blockbuster at the 2026 Mutua Madrid Open. If you’re at the Caja Mágica today, you’re in for a treat. From local teenage sensations to reigning Grand Slam champions, the schedule is packed from morning into the Madrid night.
The Main Stage: Manolo Santana Stadium
The action kicks off at 11:00 AM with a fascinating clash between China’s Qinwen Zheng and American Sofia Kenin. Zheng has been on a tear lately, but Kenin is a former major champ who knows exactly how to handle the big stage. Following them, the power-hitting Elena Rybakina takes on Romania’s Elena-Gabriela Ruse. Rybakina’s serve is a weapon on any surface, even the high-altitude clay of Madrid, so expect some fireworks there!
As the afternoon heat settles in, all eyes will be on Jannik Sinner. The Italian superstar is scheduled for “not before 4:00 PM” against France’s Benjamin Bonzi. Sinner has become one of the faces of the tour, and his ball-striking is something you truly have to see in person to believe.
The evening session is where things get really emotional. Not before 8:00 PM, Spain’s own Rafael Jodar will step onto the clay to face the lightning-fast Australian Alex de Minaur. The home crowd will undoubtedly be deafening as they cheer on their young prospect against one of the toughest competitors in the game. To wrap up the night, American star Jessica Pegula takes on Britain’s Katie Boulter in a match that promises plenty of tactical brilliance.
Stars Everywhere: Arantxa Sanchez and Beyond
If you prefer the slightly more intimate atmosphere of the Arantxa Sanchez Stadium, you’ve got a “must-watch” right at the start: Hubert Hurkacz vs. Lorenzo Musetti. It’s a classic battle of styles—Hurkacz’s massive serve against Musetti’s beautiful one-handed backhand. Later in the afternoon, the high-energy Ben Shelton brings his big game to the court, followed by a highlight WTA match featuring Coco Gauff. Coco is always a fan favorite in Madrid, and watching her track down balls on the clay is a masterclass in athleticism.
Don’t sleep on Stadium 3 or the outer courts either! One of the most intense players on tour, Andrey Rublev, is fourth on Stadium 3. Meanwhile, Court 5 is hosting a match that could easily be a final on any other day: Karolina Pliskova versus Maria Sakkari. Seeing two Top 10-caliber players on a smaller court is the kind of “only in Madrid” experience that makes this tournament so special.
Doubles and Rising Stars
The doubles specialists are also out in force today. Keep an eye on the Italian duo of Errani and Paolini over on Court 5—they always bring a lot of passion and tactical craft to the court. We also get to see the young Brazilian phenom Joao Fonseca closing out the night on the Arantxa Sanchez Stadium against the veteran Marin Cilic. It’s truly a day where the “old guard” meets the “new gen.”
Whether you’re cheering for the Spaniards, following your favorite international stars, or just here for the tapas and the tennis, Friday is going to be unforgettable!
