LONDON — The tennis world is getting an early look at the powerhouse lineups for the upcoming Laver Cup London 2026, and the competition promises to be fiercer than ever. Tournament organizers have announced three major player additions, meaning eight stars have now been named across the two teams—including an incredible seven of the world’s top 11 players.

Team Europe, led by Captain Yannick Noah, has added two of the ATP Tour’s most explosive young stars, Flavio Cobolli and Jakub Mensik. Meanwhile, Team World Captain Andre Agassi has added major firepower by selecting the incredibly talented and highly entertaining Alexander Bublik, who will be making his official Laver Cup debut.

The historic team tournament is scheduled to return to the iconic O2 Arena in London from September 25 to September 27, 2026. With Team World having won three of the last four Laver Cup titles, the stage is set for a dramatic and intensely competitive weekend on the tournament’s signature black court.

Team Europe Builds a Formidable Core

With the addition of Cobolli and Mensik, Captain Yannick Noah has locked in a strong, tight-knit group of returning players. They join an already terrifying roster that features World No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz and World No. 3 Alexander Zverev.

Flavio Cobolli’s Breakthrough Season

Italian star Flavio Cobolli is experiencing an absolute dream season on the professional tour. He recently climbed to a career-high ranking of World No. 10 after a spectacular run to the Roland Garros final in Paris, where he was ultimately defeated by his now-Team Europe teammate, Alexander Zverev.

Cobolli has a rich history with the Laver Cup, serving as the team’s alternate in Berlin in 2024 before making his official playing debut in San Francisco last year.

“The Laver Cup is one of the most exciting events in our sport,” Cobolli said. “It was incredible to be part of it last year, and it was my goal to play again this year. To be named to the team and compete for Team Europe is a huge honor. I cannot wait.”

Jakub Mensik’s Historic Rise

Joining Cobolli is 20-year-old Czech sensation Jakub Mensik, widely regarded as one of the most powerful young ball-strikers in tennis. Currently ranked World No. 16, Mensik also stunned the tennis world at Roland Garros this year by reaching the semifinals before falling to Zverev. In the process, he became the youngest Czech man in history to reach a Grand Slam semifinal.

For Mensik, playing in the Laver Cup fulfills a childhood dream that began at the very first tournament.

“The Laver Cup has always been special to me,” Mensik shared. “I was there with my family at the very first Laver Cup in Prague in 2017 as a young fan, so to now be part of Team Europe for a second time is hard to believe… We were disappointed with the result last year, but we’ll do everything we can to bring the Laver Cup back to Team Europe in London.”

Captain Yannick Noah expressed immense confidence in his two young stars, noting that because they played together last year, they fully understand the team chemistry required to win. “They give us a strong core of returning players who know each other and understand what it takes to compete as a team,” Noah said.

Team World Adds “Unpredictable” Firepower with Bublik

Not to be outdone, Team World Captain Andre Agassi has added one of the most uniquely gifted assets in modern tennis to his roster. Alexander Bublik will make his Laver Cup debut in London, bringing his signature trick shots and high-energy personality to an already loaded Team World lineup.

Bublik joins a stellar, deep roster that already boasts:

  • Ben Shelton (World No. 5)
  • Alex de Minaur (World No. 6)
  • Taylor Fritz (World No. 9)

Bublik, 28, has enjoyed an incredible run of success, hitting a career-high ranking of World No. 10 earlier this year after winning the title in Hong Kong. He currently sits at World No. 11.

Last season, Bublik proved his elite versatility by capturing titles in Halle, Gstaad, Kitzbühel, and Hangzhou. This achievement made him just the third player this decade—alongside tennis giants Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz—to win ATP titles on clay, grass, and hard courts in the exact same season.

“It’s amazing. I’ve always admired and adored the Laver Cup and watched it every year,” Bublik said. “It has created so many great memories in our sport and it’s an honor to be selected. I’m proud to represent Team World.”

Captain Andre Agassi praised Bublik’s rare talent, noting that his unpredictability is a massive weapon in a team format. “He’s capable of producing shots that very few players would even attempt and can change the momentum of a match in an instant,” Agassi explained. “I think he’ll be a great addition to Team World.”

Return to a Historic Venue

The 2026 tournament marks an emotional return to London’s O2 Arena, a venue permanently etched into tennis folklore. It was here in 2022 that Roger Federer played the emotional final match of his historic career, competing in doubles alongside his legendary rival Rafael Nadal while fellow “Big Four” icons Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray supported them from the bench.

As the event returns to British soil, fans can expect more world-class matchups, never-before-seen doubles combinations, and the unmatched spectacle of fiercest rivals fighting for the same team.

With only two spots remaining to be filled on each six-man roster, the tennis world will be watching closely for final player announcements in the coming weeks.
