The grass-court tennis season is back. The All England Lawn Tennis Club has shared the official entry list for the 2026 Wimbledon Gentlemen’s Singles tournament. The competition starts on June 29, and fans are excited to see who will lift the famous trophy this year.
The rankings for this entry list were locked on May 18, 2026. The list features the best male tennis players in the world, including past champions and bright young stars. However, there is also some major news about a top player who will miss the tournament due to injury.
Sinner and Zverev Lead the Entry List
Jannik Sinner is at the very top of the entry list as the World No. 1 and the defending champion. Sinner won the tournament last year, showing that his fast, flat shots work perfectly on grass courts. He also recently won a big title in Rome, so he enters the grass season with a lot of confidence. Everyone will be trying to stop him from winning his second Wimbledon title in a row.

Huge News: Carlos Alcaraz Withdraws
The biggest story from the official document is a sad one for tennis fans. Two-time Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz has officially withdrawn from the 2026 tournament.
According to the official tournament withdrawal list, Alcaraz has an ongoing wrist injury that prevents him from playing. This is a massive blow to the event because Alcaraz is one of the most exciting players to watch on grass. Because he had to pull out, Great Britain’s Jan Choinski moves up from the alternate list to take his spot in the main draw.
Another notable injury withdrawal is France’s Arthur Cazaux. He had to pull out due to his own health issues, which allowed Japan’s Sho Shimabukuro to enter the main draw instead.
Young Stars to Watch
There is a fresh wave of young talent ready to make a name for themselves at SW19. American star Ben Shelton is ranked No. 5 on the list after a great quarter-final run last year. His huge serve is a massive weapon on this surface.
